Rhythm and Roots presents ‘A Guide to the Birdsong of South America’, an album of modern music inspired by the song of endangered South American birds. The compilation features some of the continent’s most talented young musicians (see below), challenging each of them to create a track inspired by a threatened bird species from their country.

‘A Guide to the Birdsong of South America’ aims highlight the plight of these birds through great music. All profits will be donated to the Ecuadorian birding organisation Aves y Conservación.

The music is being created as you read this and we plan to release the album in Autumn 2014. Sign up below to be in with a chance to win a copy of the album and to receive the latest news on the project.

 How the project Kickstarted…

A Guide to the Birdsong of South America Kickstarter

In June 2014 we launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation of ‘A Guide to the Birdsong of South America’. After a month we reached 150% funding, giving us the green light to go ahead and produce the album.

The album will be released digitally and on vinyl in Autumn 2014 via Rhythm and Roots. To accompany the album we will also be creating a series of graphic material, from post-cards to T-shirts.
